Joey's Return for 2 Weeks!!

On the morning of Wednesday, June 9, 2010 my sweet husband returned to the good ol' US of A for his two week mid-tour leave.  I had arrived on Tuesday night and stayed with my sweet friend Kinsey where I did not sleep one wink due to my extreme excitement!  This meeting was the first time we had seen eachother in 6.5 months and almost 7 months from the day we got married in November.  To say we were ecstatic to see eachother was an understatement!! After I picked him up from the Atlanta airport I wisked him away to the historic Georgian Terrace hotel in midtown (it is across the street from the Fox Theater), where we enjoyed a "welcome home" brunch and stayed for 3 nights until we jetted to Costa Rica for our long-awaited honeymoon!

Update from May until today...

So there has been several things that have happened since my last post.  I know I always say I will get more regular about posting, but I get so busy I forget.  I apologize to my 6 followers :)  Towards the end of May, sweet Sarah called me and asked if I would be down for a roadtrip to Starkville to be her "and guest" to a friend's wedding.  Since I had to cancel my previously planned trip to Nashville to see her I was more than happy to go.  I, of course, being so very sentimental had to get a photo op of us in front of our old dorm where we were roomies...good times!

This obviously was slightly awkward since we were dressed up and alumni by 4+ years...oh well!
Then school ended for me on May 28th and literally at 2:30 pm I headed to my house to pack me, Anny, and Diana's things in my mom's Tahoe to head to Fort Morgan for my little seester's bacheloretty weekend!  (Side Note: Mama, Daddy, and Jared left that evening for a 9 day adventure in London and Paris!)

The weekend in Fort Morgan consisted of Katy and her oldest and closest friends from preschool until now...along with her 2 older sisters= me and Annelise!  They following pictures are from the lingerie brunch I threw her on Saturday morning and then the pictures of the bachelorette party before & at the Florabama :)

Above are all of Katy's friends from growing up in Hoover...it was so great that so many of them came!

Above is how the girls decided to get this "pimp" ready for the night out...blindfolded!

Oh how I love my little sister :) if you were there you know why we are pointing to the picture hahaha!

Again...if you were there you know why I make this face :) Love it!! Katie and Ellen are so crafty!!

Some additional life long friends Katy got to hang out with at the marvelous Florabama!

And last but not least the cop Katy made friends with while we were hanging out.  I can not recall any event in her life where she has not made friends with at LEAST one random person.  She is always making me laugh!

On Memorial Day we all packed up and returned home after an incredible weekend of fun with so many friends.  However, on June 3rd it was my turn to see one of my oldest friends!!!  Edwin returned to Birmingham for the first time in over a year.  He has been living in Guam since December 2007 and then was deployed to Iraq from October until early May.  He did not get to come to mine and Joey's wedding so getting to me my best bud has been something I have looked forward to for a long while.  So here are a few picks from his arrival and when me, Ed, and Michael went to catch up!

And now my next post will be all about JOEY BEING HOME!!!! T-minus 12 hours until he lands in Atlanta!  Tomorrow will be the first time we have seen eachother in almost 7 months...and we are going on our honeymoon!!! I can't wait to share our 2 weeks with you all.  God Bless!

Lots going on and lots to look forward to :)

Well since my last post a lot has happened in my life and around the world.  I will go into greater detail when I have more time, but it has been a whirlwind for sure!

Olivia's 3rd birthday party came and went and was precious.

Shelby and Bella moved to Birmingham, and we had an awesome weekend moving them.
(Annelise, Christine, all of Shelbs' fam, and I helped move; while "Befany, Tim, and Jesse" kept Bella.  We even had Elise and baby Hazel come over to hang out.) It was great!

Kaitlin had her first bridal shower in Jackson.  Her wonderful friend, Lisa, through it for her and it was beautiful.

I helped my friend Louise paint her new house.  It is the cutest house ever, and I can't wait until Joey and I can buy one to fix up together. :)

Got a little pnuemonia :( so I did not get to see Emmylou graduate law school or go visit Sarah in Nashville.

And now I have 2 weeks left of the school year, until Katy's bachelorette weekend at the beach, and 3ish weeks until my husband comes home.

Life is good...

Happy Birthday OLIVIA!!!

Yesterday, April 11th 2010 was mine and Joey's niece's 3rd birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY sweet girl!!  Her birthday party will be this coming weekend so I will update with pictures :)
We LOVE our niece!

The first day I met this beautiful little girl :)

My Sister is getting MARRIED!!

So when I was updating the blog with all the big events happening in my life I forgot the MOST important one of all....MY BABY SISTER IS GETTING MARRIED!!!  She and Brad got engaged on March 3, 2010 in Madison.  After a romantic dinner at Ruth Chris, Brad proposed at the house he is in the process of buying to be their first house.  This is so exciting and amazing.  The big day is August 28, 2010 @ 7:00 pm.  I am so honored to be her matron-of-honor!  Katy and I are so lucky to have grown -up to become eachother's best friends.  Here is a picture of when they first started dating and 2 pics I borrowed from Greg Hawkin's of Studio G's website.

So happy together!

You two are such a gorgeous couple!

My beautiful sister!

This picture was taken at my wedding.  It shows all three of the couples: me & Joey, Katy & Brad, and mama and daddy. :)

A Naval Wedding...

So I promised to update with pictures of the Breslin-Murphy nuptials and here I go!  First of all the wedding was insanely beautiful.  It was in Annapolis, MD at the Naval Academy Chapel.  The chapel is a historical monument in our amazing country and to marry there is such a HUGE deal.  Secondly, the good Lord blessed this weekend with the most amazing weather.  It was 75 degrees, sunny, and not a cloud in the sky.  Casey and Allen had all of their friends and family there to support the day that starts their life together...it was incredible.  I can NOT wait to go back to Annapolis...and hopefully I will have a sailboat of some sort to be on in the harbor.  I can totally see why Edwin and all the Navy guys love the area :)  SIDE NOTE: the priest who officiated the ceremony was West Point's chaplain (woohoo Go ARMY!!).  So here some pictures from the weekend.
This is maid-of-honor whom I love, Catie Breslin, and me.

This is pre-wedding in the gazebo outside the chapel.
(L-R: me, Catie, Casey "the bride," Mary Lisa, Erika, Leah)

Again these are the bridesmaids with the bride after the rehearsal dinner.

Lately....blessings and a change!

So it has been about 2 weeks I think since I have updated the blog, and a lot has happened.  Well first we had the big auction at schools where the kids bid on teachers and the prize the teacher has come up for the kids.  Two of the most awesome 5th graders in the world got their moms to bid on me and we had a date night.  I had the honor of taking these girls to dinner at Kobe (Japanese Hibachi) and then dessert at Yogurt Mountain.  It was so fun!  I forget about how important everything is in 5th grade..."so and so likes me," "I cant believe my mom wants me to wear dresses," "why are boys so mean?" etc etc etc.  It was fun to be 11 again!

Then Shelby and Bella came to stay and of course we know that is one of my favorite things in life!  I know Shelby probably thinks my mama and I are insane since we always have presents, cookies, and chocolate milk for B...but OH WELL!!!  I love to spoil her and it was just one more way to convince them that moving to Bham was the right move :)  That being said...it is official- Shelby took a job at St. Vincent's hospital and they are moving at the end of April to Birmingham!!!! Woohoo!  I truly believe that the Lord opens doors and closes others for a reason and this move will be an AWESOME blessing to Shelbs and B!

The week before spring break started (last week) I had the chance to spend the night with a friend, Michelle, and her 2 boys!  We had such a great time hanging out!  Michelle has become such a blessing to me.  She and all the girls I work with at my school have become a huge part of my life and I am BEYOND thankful!

I also got a hair style/color change!! (I'll post a pic at the bottom of the post!)

And finally...  I started spring break by going to Charlotte to stay with my "sister" Amanda and her husband Andrew!  I just love these two so much.  They took me to the most wonderful tapas restaurant called, Sole, and it really was amazing!  I got to watch basketball, get a pedicure, go to church, and just relax with Amanda.  We do not get to see eachother all the time since they live there, so this weekend was so wonderful!  Another amazing couple of people the Lord has blessed me with!!

I know Joey worries about me while he is gone so I write and share these happenings in hopes he is reassured of the amazing people and things that are surrounding me.  (I kinda laugh to myself about his worry since I am just living my everyday life and he is the one making the dangerous choices...it just seems backwards)

**Here is the new hair***

My next adventure is Casey and Allen's wedding in Annapolis that I leave for tomorrow...stay tuned!!!
